We go store to store and wait in lines after lines for our gift shopping. It’s Christmas, the time of year for giving and receiving gifts to family, friends, and anyone close to you.
Some people think and say that Christmas has become way to commercial. I think that is true to some extent, but I think the stores have more to do with that than the customer. It seems the stores want to make more and more money every year.
To bad we all have lost track of what Christmas is REALLY all about. Yes, giving is a big part of it. It’s an even bigger part of it when people are giving and helping the less fortunate. The number one thing though, is what slips all our minds is, the celebration of Jesus Christ. It is HIS birthday!
So you may ask, what is the best way to celebrate Jesus Christ’s birthday?
How about giving HIM some gifts that will make him happy and last all year long. I think everyone else celebrates their birthday with such gifts right? I think Jesus Christ should at least have that same kind of special day himself.
Now what on earth can anyone give Jesus Christ on December 25th that will last all year long? Now first of all, these are not resolutions you make going into the New Year. These are gifts remember, to Jesus Christ our savior. (for those who don’t believe…I hope some day you will…it will improve your life)
How about some people give Jesus the gift of forgiveness. I think others could give him the gift of honesty, giving, more caring to others, and have more faith in their hearts. I’m sure others can give more time to their love ones, or their church. Those who can afford it can give money to a local charity. If we all give locally it would obviously take care of all the needy in some way or another.
I’m sure we all have our own special gift to give to Jesus. The gift that will not only last all year, but maybe one that may last a lifetime!
If your wondering where I got all these great gift ideas from, I’ll tell you. I got them from listening to a group of about fifteen…seven and eight year old’s!… I think that alone should tell you something!
